USDIDX: United States Consumer Price Index (CPI) report is the key economic event of July 11-15 week. Investors will be watching closely to see whether the consumer inflation peaks or not. In case the inflation doesn’t exceed the previous month’s headline inflation of 8.6% this may give some reason for the Federal Reserve to consider a half point interest rate hike at its September policy meeting instead of a 75 basis points increase that is widely expected now - USDISD will get a bearish boost.
USDCNH: China’s Gross Domestic Product report for first quarter is an important economic event due July 15. The performance of China’s economy is an indicator of the state of global economy also as Chinese production facilities are the main suppliers of manufactured goods for many countries of the world. There is a possibility the GDP report may indicate weaker performance than expected which will be bullish for USDCNH.
