USDIDX: United States Consumer Price Index (CPI) report is the key economic event of August 8-12 week. The inflation report is due on August 10. Investors will be watching closely to see whether the consumer inflation peaks or not. In case the inflation doesn’t exceed the previous month’s headline inflation of 9.1% this may give some reason for the Federal Reserve to consider a half point interest rate hike at its September policy meeting instead of a 75 basis points increase that is widely expected now - USDISD will get a bearish boost.
